As a leader of the consortium, Qumak will realize the agreement with three partners. The Company will deliver and launch the electricity storage system of a nominal power exceeding 750kW in both directions of work and of a capacity greater than 1500kWh. Additionally, the Company will provide technical support, particularly in the scope of linking the energy storage to the electricity system of Energa-Operator.
Main task of the electricity storage is generating energy and using it to balance an energy system and to improve the electricity quality. Energy storage is one of the key elements included in modern Smart Grid networks. This is the first such a large project performed in Poland.
The consortium of companies Qumak (leader), My-Soft, Commener and Trakcja TRKiI has 22 weeks to perform the project. After completing the works, Qumak will provide warranty service for the next 18 months.
Energa-Operator obtained the means to fund this undertaking from the National Centre of Research and Development. Aim of a GEKON program is increasing the innovativeness of the Polish economy through the development of modern ecological technologies.
